Why America will never be great again.

    History is littered with the remains of ambitious dictators surrounding themselves with equally ambitious empty suit hangers-on. From the Bibles ancient accounts of Ahasuerus in the book of Esther and Nebuchadnezzar in the book of Daniel through Stalin and Mao Zedong, Hitler and Putin; dictators surround themselves with sycophants. Little gods demand worshipers. Watching video of Trump and sycophant Vance brow beat Zelensky in the Oval Office last week confirmed for many the dark side of Trumpism. Trump, Zelensky Putin, the Biden crime family: these Men have forgotten God and we have reaped a rat's nest of corrupt psychopathic leadership. Post dog and pony show poll numbers seem to have paid off however, among red-meat Republicans and fearful isolationists. Bobble headed nods from sycophants, Mike Johnson, Tulsi Gabbard, Marco Rubio and other newly minted cabinet picks were almost unanimous in condemning Zelensky's failure to properly grovel. Even Victor Hanson joined the castrato choir. Victor did you leave your moral compass with the hat check girl? Hanson's imagined (hoped for) outcome is what all the western allies want. The question is how to get there. Hanson says in American Greatness:

"Aside from all the present posturing and mock-heroics, the only way to save Ukraine is for the U.S. president, Donald Trump, to reflect joint Ukrainian, American, and European interests in stopping the war, forcing Putin as far back eastward as possible where he started in 2022, and creating a credible deterrent along with a DMZ/industrial corridor tripwire to stop another 2008, 2014, and 2022 invasion."

Alienating  the European Union and treating Zelensky like an unruly child in the principal's office is counterproductive.  Zelensky may be a lightweight thrust into a heavyweight arena but for now he's all they have. The Ukrainian people are being slaughtered en mass daily and right now we should be coalition building rather than spitting in NATO's soup to get their attention.

    "But so far in his second term, regarding the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Trump has offered to Vladimir Putin that Ukraine will not retake all its annexed and occupied sovereign territory, that Ukraine will not join NATO, that there will be no U.S. troops on Ukrainian soil after the war, and that the U.S. will lift sanctions on Russia. And Trump might even throw in a withdrawal of the extra 20,000 U.S. troops that Joe Biden sent to NATO’s eastern flank after the invasion of Ukraine. And in exchange, Putin offered well, nothing, really" The American Betrayal of Ukraine Begins -National Review

    No preacher or pretentious prognosticator knows the mind of God but;
 pastor Gary Hamrick has dug deep to reveal the spiritual warfare linkage between the war in Ukraine and the Iran's war against Israel.  He says that the pure evil of Putin and his ally Iran is pitted against US. support for Israel and US./NATO support for Ukraine.  At the same time radical Islam is attacking America on the Red Sea and through it's infiltration of our universities, Russia is driving a wedge between the US. and it's NATO allies in the Ukraine war.  Here, according to Hamrick, the Bible's prophetic predictions of the protagonists in the future battle of Armageddon and the second coming of Christ seem to be closer than ever before. The battle lines for the final end times conflicts are being formed even as the world looks on and political leadership seems clueless  to recognize these spiritual connections.  Hamrick's video sermon should be required viewing for all Christians.

    "As Christians we should not be caught off guard by this... there's evil in the world, there are evil dictators, there are evil leaders... when we see these things starting to line up, we should perk up....we should be able to, at least process these things through the grid of the Bible to give us comfort and hope."

    While we believe that the spiritual battle lines being drawn are the inevitable progression of the world's decent into the chaos that the Bible predicts prior to Jesus return; we are also responsible to strengthen the things that remain and to continue to proclaim the Gospel to those who will listen. For Christians, there is no place for despair.  As long as the spirit of God contends with men we must contend with evil and support godly leadership.
    There alternative strategies to help secure Ukraine without provoking world war three or capitulating to Putin's nuclear blackmail.  Retired General David Petraeus has put forth a reasoned approach as has the Atlantic Council
     Historically there have also been periods of relative peace in the Middle East where diplomatic solutions may yet prevail.  For many years  Israel has lived relatively peaceably with a large indigenous  population of Moslem Arabs within their borders.  Unless the grinding poverty of Palestinians and the propagation of Iranian hate and terror can be addressed, the missiles will continue to rain across borders.  Approaches to these problems are difficult and require diligent steadfast sacrifices of all the parties over time.  What these approaches fail to do its gratify bloated egos or offer instant solutions to complex problems. We believe that huckster tricks like cutting Ukraine's lifeline military aid, cutting off American intelligence sharing and curtailing our cyber warfare against Russia have little chance of success against the hardened ex KGB  murder boss we're up against there. Time is not on Ukraine's side while their land is ruined and conquered. Perhaps we should ask if that is part of Trumps artless deal of feeding a mad dog until he's sated. Suggestions of removing the population and turning Gaza into a Trumpyland golf resort fall into the same worthless fantasy.    Failure on both fronts risks further emboldening our Russian, Chinese and  radical Islamic  enemies and destroying America's ability to promote the aspirations of freedom seeking people around the world.  Are there any men of wisdom left in America?  Is America Still Reagan's 'Shining City on a Hill'?   - Bill Lami
